Home Who We Are / Board Members Len Howell

Len Howell portraitMr. Len Howell is a long-time resident of Mississauga and was recently appointed by the Provincial government to the Regional Municipality of Peel Police Service Board in April 2019 for a three year term ending in April 2022.

Leonard (Len) Howell is proud to call Mississauga home for over 39 years. He raised 3 children in the City with his loving wife of 40 years, Joan.  Len has always had a passion to serve his community and his career path and volunteer service have enabled him to stay connected with his local residents and appreciate the benefits of a vibrant and diverse municipality.

He served as a Police Officer with the Peel Regional Police for just short of 10 years, was the President of his local Mississauga Resident’s Association Board for several years, and continues to be a Director. For the past 34 years, Len has been a top producing, award winning Realtor in Mississauga.  He has frequently achieved the highest standards of excellence in his industry, and maintains a direct involvement in assisting charities like Community Living Mississauga in the acquisition of local homes for those in need.

Len continues to stay actively involved with local charities including Wellspring, Epilepsy Foundation and Children's Make-a-Wish Foundation through both fundraising and award-winning philanthropy.  Len prides himself on his love of working and connecting with people both professionally and personally.  Supporting his community and a long standing relationship with the Peel Regional Police Service has been an integral part of Len’s life and he is excited to play an active role in the continued success of the Service.  He has kept in touch with many of his colleagues from the police service through friendship and with the Peel Police Retirees Association and as a fifteen year member with the International Police Association.  These interactions have enhanced the value he places on a strong police-community relationship.
