Peel Police Service Board Member Al Boughton Elected Chair of Ontario Association of Police Service Boards

London, ON – June 3, 2025 – The Peel Police Service Board is proud to announce that Board Member Al Boughton has been elected Chair of the Ontario Association of Police Service Boards (OAPSB). Mr. Boughton’s election was confirmed during the OAPSB’s Annual General Meeting held earlier today.
The OAPSB represents police boards across Ontario, advocating for effective civilian governance, accountability, and community-focused policing. As Chair, Mr. Boughton will lead the organization in its mission to strengthen police oversight and support boards in delivering adequate and effective policing across the province.
“I’m honoured to serve as Chair of the OAPSB at such a pivotal time for policing in Ontario,” said Al Boughton. “Strong, transparent, and community-responsive governance is more important than ever. I look forward to working with police boards, police chiefs, and community leaders across the province to advance public safety and trust.”
Mr. Boughton has served on the Peel Police Service Board since 2019 and currently chairs its Finance and Bargaining Committees. He also serves on the Ontario Police Arbitration and Adjudication Commission. Prior to his public service, Mr. Boughton co-founded Trailcon Leasing, growing it into a national leader in transportation logistics.
